Just an average Sunday, but with some simple yet beautiful moments.
All the Houses
Smoke enters our lungs as the white speeds forward,
our car left in a trail of fireworks and impatience
as we slowly admire that which we will never have
drift slowly by our windows.
Lunch
A sharp laugh and a wary glance as sharp metal reaches skyward,
only to be disappointed by a quick return to earth
as a pot simmers and potatoes face their doom.
HomeWork
Simple sounds float restlessly through the air.
Silent as they move,
yet gently bumping in our ears after their journey
as we sit with a wall between us,
determination and eagerness to end the day’s work
building towards the chance to sit side by side
and look in wander off the balcony amidst our Halloween lights.
